Confidentiality and privacy are important to us.
As you participate in our research, we want to be clear how your information is used and how your privacy is protected so that you can make an informed decision about your participation.
When registering for our Online studies, participants will be asked to provide their first name (or an alias name) and an email address. A valid email address is needed to send you the anonymous ID code and the link to our Smartsurvey.co.uk portal. It is also needed to register for the gift voucher after completing the survey on a separate page.
None of your personal data will be linked with your responses in the survey that we collect on our Smartsurvey.co.uk portal. To protect your privacy, we do not collect any data on your full names, post addresses or IP numbers.
When registering for our Video studies, participants will be asked to provide their first name and a valid email address in our portal. This is necessary to send you further information and documents and the link to our online appointment scheduler. To make an appointment, the scheduler will ask you for your first names and a valid email and phone number so that we can reach you to confirm your appointment and to make rearrangements if necessary.
All procedures that we have implemented for the collection, storage and protection of your data are controlled by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and comply with the UK Data Protection Act 1998 and EU legislation.
